Distinction in the Major

To be awarded Distinction in the Major, formerly referred to as Honors, students must:

• Satisfy Yale College distributional requirements for the bachelor’s degree
• Complete all requirements for the Political Science major.
• Achieve a minimum 3.7 GPA in Political Science courses taken for a letter grade
• Receive a grade of A or A- on the senior essay from the faculty adviser, while also meeting the departmental standard for distinctions as determined by the second reader.
