Job Description:

Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer Joan Ricart-Huguet is interested in hiring a research assistant (RA) for the remainder of the spring semester, with the possibility of continuing into the summer if the student is interested. The RA will work on a project studying political elites in Argentina from the 1850s until today. The topic is relevant for students interested in one or more of those: political science, political economy, history, development, Latin America. The successful applicant will read and scan relevant articles and books on the political (and economic) history of Argentina that further the project. The applicant will learn more about the research during a brief in-person interview. Besides financial compensation, the research assistant will gain from close engagement with Dr. Ricart-Huguet in a relevant area of interdisciplinary social science research. Dr. Ricart-Huguet will also provide academic and professional development advice and, upon the completion of the engagement, evaluate the research work and write a recommendation letter. Applicants must be able to read Spanish fluently and must be able to commit 8 to 10 hours per week. No prior knowledge on Argentina required. Working hours are very flexible. They include one weekly meeting with Dr. Ricart-Huguet.
