2026-27 Undergraduate Deadlines

Unless otherwise specified, all applications and essays should be submitted by email to the PLSC Undergraduate Registrar at undergrad.polisci@yale.edu. All applications are due on Fridays by 4:00 PM.

August 28, 2026

  • Add/Drop PLSC Senior Essay Program application and Prospectus form are due for admittance to PLSC 4900. Only students admitted to the Senior Essay Program will complete a PLSC senior essay. All other students will registrer for a PLSC seminar senior year to complete the senior requirement. Only students in the PLSC Senior Essay Program are eligible for distinction in the major.

August 7, 2026

  • Frank M. Patterson Summer Grant Recipients: Report and receipts 

September 18, 2026

  • BA/MA applications (Eligibility: PLSC Juniors in their 5th term)

October 23, 2026

  • Daniel Siegel Undergraduate Research Fund - Winter break grant applications 

November 6, 2026

  •  PLSC Honors students only: Senior Essay application and Prospectus form are due for admittance to PLSC 4900.

November 20, 2026

  • Interdisciplinary Concentration (IDC) Major Application - to be submitted before November recess in the final year of enrollment 

December 4, 2026

  • One Term PLSC Senior Essays due only for students in the Senior Essay Program and/or enrolled in PLSC 4900

February 5, 2027

  • Winter Recipients of the Daniel Siegel Undergraduate Research Fund: Report (1-2 pages) and receipts 

February 12, 2027

  • Daniel Siegel Undergraduate Research Fund - Spring semester grant applications

March 26, 2026

  • Frank M. Patterson fund to support summer research and Political Science-related internships applications are due through the Grants and Fellowships Database.

April 9, 2027

  • PLSC Senior Essay students:  Year-Long Senior Essay due

April 16, 2027

  • PLSC Senior Essay students:  One-Term Senior Essay due

May 7, 2027

  • Daniel Siegel Undergraduate Research Fund Recipients: Reflection and receipts
