Bio:
Tylir Fowler is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science. His research interests include party competition, democratic erosion, and direct democracy. He is especially interested in how illiberal political elites use economic, cultural, and nationalist appeals and policies to rise to power and maintain it, while eroding democratic institutions and civil liberties in democracies. For his undergraduate studies, Tylir attended Temple University where he received a B.A. in Economics.
