Bio

Robert Yee is a Postdoctoral Associate and Lecturer in the Program on Ethics, Politics and Economics at Yale University.

Yee works on the economic history of modern Europe, with a focus on the history of political economy, finance, and geopolitics. His first book, The City’s Defense: The Bank of England and the Remaking of Economic Governance, 1914–1939, was recently published with Cambridge University Press. The book was awarded the Economic History Society’s Monograph Prize in 2026. His other research has been published in the Business History Review, Contemporary British History, Contemporary European History, the Financial History Review, and Studies in Applied Economics.
 

He received a PhD and MA in History from Princeton University and a BA in History and Economics from Vanderbilt University. Before coming to Yale, he taught at the University of Oxford.
