Bio
A freelance journalist, Jennifer Berkshire writes, podcasts and teaches about the intersection of education and politics. Her course, “The Politics of Public Education,” examines the age-old conflicts over how, where, by whom and for what purpose American children are educated. The co-host of the education policy podcast Have You Heard, she is the co-author of two recent books: The Education Wars: A Citizen’s Guide and Defense Manual and A Wolf at the Schoolhouse Door: The Dismantling of Public Education and the Future of School. She also teaches in the Boston College Prison Education Program.
