Bio

Isabelle is a combined PhD candidate in Political Science and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. For the academic year 2025-2026, Isabelle is affiliated with the Sciences Po Paris School of Research and Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics with the generous support of the Georges Lurcy Charitable and Educational Trust. She has research interests in contemporary gender, body, and labor politics with a regional focus on the Francophone world. Her main body of work concerns state regulation of labor markets that center the body and what this means for public investment in social and cultural norms related to gender, health, and beauty. Her other interests lie in women’s organizational networks in France’s overseas departments and territories, and in the evolution of misogyny in politics. In addition to her academic work, Isabelle works with local civics and humanities education programs in New Haven, including the Citizens Thinkers Writers program for New Haven public high school students and We the People national civics education program. Before coming to Yale, she worked as a federal auditor for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) in Washington, DC. Isabelle earned her BA in Government from Cornell University and was born and raised in the great state of Colorado.
