Ellie Mitchell
Graduate School Student
Bio
Ellie is a first-year student in the Department of Political Science at Yale. She studies how legislators’ identities influence policymaking and political representation. She is particularly interested in how identity informs communication, deliberation, and constituent engagement, and in how these dynamics affect which ideas ultimately become law.
Before arriving at Yale, she was a Predoctoral Research Associate at Dartmouth College, where she worked on projects related to political violence, democratic attitudes, and partisan behavior. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University in 2025.
