Bio:

Ekin is a PhD candidate interested broadly in religion, the welfare state, and clientelism. Her dissertation project studies the interaction between the state’s control of religion and the transformation in the welfare state in Turkey.  Some of her other interests include coalitions and welfare provision in Israel, the role of emotions in shaping perceptions about welfare in the US, and comparative social policy in Europe. Prior to joining Yale, she received her B.A degree in economics from the University of Chicago.
