June 13, 2024

On June 3, 2024, the Board of Directors of The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation approved an Emerging Scholar Award to Yale University Political Science Graduate student Moritz Emanuel Bondeli in the amount of $25,000. This award is being made in response to the request for support for his project entitled “Disturbing the Peace: Mass Politics and Political Violence in Weimar Germany.”

The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation examines enduring and urgent problems of violence, such as war, crime, and human aggression. Through basic and applied research, they aim to understand the causes, manifestation, and control of violence. They spread this knowledge to inform policy, practice, and public discourse and to advance scholarship.

The Foundation awards research grants to support distinguished and emerging scholars studying urgent matters of violence in the United States and around the world.

The Harry Frank Guggenheim Emerging Scholar Awards recognize promising researchers in their final year of writing a doctoral dissertation examining a salient aspect of violence.
