”Clarifying Antisemitism through Experiments: Exploring Blame, Responsibility, and Hate Crime.”
Ayal Feinberg, Director of the Center for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights at Gratz College
Description: Investigating prejudice is inherently challenging for researchers. Explaining variation in antisemitism has proven particularly problematic for scholars and practitioners alike. Fortunately, new scholarship utilizing experimental methods promises to offset long-standing hurdles that have prevented a robust antisemitism research program. This talk will examine how novel survey experiments are helping to elucidate the consequences of antisemitic attitudes and beliefs as well as the real-world mechanisms through which they operate.
