The Graduate Writing Lab presents:

Workshop on grant and fellowships applications.

Fellowships and grants are vital to a successful academic career. It is never too early or too late to learn how to find (and win!) financial support for your research and to hone your application materials, the focus of the First Session.

The Second Session, Writing Personal Statements, will discuss the essential elements of a personal statement and consider how a strong personal statement will make your overall application more competitive. In this workshop, we will evaluate successful personal statements from a variety of applications, and learn how to hone the focus, narrative, and style of our personal statements.

The Third Session, Writing Research Statements, will provide organizational know-how on how to craft a research proposal, examples of research proposals, and resources to help structure this important document.
