Mayesha Alam selected as one of the 30 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans recipients!

April 19, 2017

Mayesha Alam, a first year graduate student in our Ph.D. program, has just been selected as one of the 30 Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans recipients!

“The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans program honors the contributions of immigrants and children of immigrants to the United States. Each year, they invest in the graduate education of 30 New Americans—immigrants and children of immigrants—who are poised to make significant contributions to US society, culture or their academic field. Each Fellow receives up to $90,000 in financial support over two years, and they join a lifelong community of New American Fellows.” For more information on this year’s scholars, see https://www.pdsoros.org/.

Mayesha is one of 9 students who will use this fellowship to pursue graduate education at Yale, including 5 at the Law School.

Well done, Mayesha!
