Event description:

The Yale University Library Treasures from the Yale Film Archive presents a film screening.

“Chinatown” (Roman Polanski, 1974, 35mm, 130 mins).

50th anniversary screening! New print! Robert Towne’s Oscar-winning screenplay was written with Jack Nicholson in mind, and he gives one of his most lauded performances as private eye Jake Gittes, a pawn in a labyrinthine Los Angeles case of corruption, false identities, and family secrets. Faye Dunaway and John Huston are equally mesmerizing in this unmissable neo-noir masterpiece. 35mm print from the Yale Film Archive. Special thanks to Paramount Pictures Corporation.
