The Yale University Library presents a book talk with Marlene Daut, professor of French and African Diaspora Studies and Grégory Pierrot, associate professor of English at UConn Stamford:
“The First and Last King of Haiti.”
Marlene Daut, professor of French and African Diaspora Studies, will be in conversation with Grégory Pierrot, associate professor of English at UConn Stamford, about Daut’s new book “The First and Last King of Haiti: the Rise and Fall of Henry Christophe.” The book is a riveting story of not only geopolitical clashes on a grand scale in 18th-century Haiti, but also a tale of friendship and loyalty, treachery and betrayal, heroism and strife in an era of revolutionary upheaval.
