The Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association presents

Monica Bell, Professor of Law, Counselor to Dean at Yale Law School and Associate Professor of Sociology, Yale University: 

“Law, Sociology, and Race.”

Bell works at the intersection of law and sociology, using sociological theory and research to explore legal questions regarding race and class inequality. Prior to joining the faculty, Bell was a Climenko Fellow & Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and a Liman Fellow at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia. Bell holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Furman University (Truman Scholar), an M.Sc. in Equality Studies from University College Dublin (Mitchell Scholar), a J.D. from Yale Law School, and her Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University. Professor Bell plans to share more information about her career, legal aid experience, and race and class-based teachings!
