The Yale Ukrainian Program presents a film screening.
“Timestamp.”
Set in schools across wartime Ukraine, Timestamp offers an intimate, observational portrait of daily life for students and teachers striving to sustain education and normalcy. Filmed without interviews or narration, the documentary presents a raw, mosaic-like view of school communities adapting to learning under the constant threat of violence.
Timestamp had its highly anticipated world premiere in the Main Competition section of the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival. Notably, it is the first Ukrainian film to participate in Competition at Berlinale since Kira Muratova’s THREE STORIES in 1997. A mere days prior to our Yale special screening, Timestampwill have its celebrated North American premiere at the New Directors/New Films Festival at Lincoln Center.
Q&A with director Kateryna Gornostai and the film’s producers, cinematographer, and lead actor. Moderated by filmmaker David Gutnik.
