Event description:

The Yale Research Data Center presents: Shirley Liu, New York branch of the Federal Statistical Research Data Center:  “An Introduction to Data Services.”   Dr. Liu will talk about the Yale Research Data Center (YRDC), the process to obtain permission to use the data, and what types of data are available. While Dr. Liu will not be speaking about the 2020 U.S. Census directly, she will discuss the data that can be accessed through the YRDC.

The Yale Research Data Center, funded by the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics, is one of 29 Federal Research Data Centers. These centers are partnerships between research organizations and U.S. federal statistical agencies; they are secure facilities managed by the Census Bureau to provide secure access to restricted-use microdata for statistical purposes only.

This event is part of the Library’s Eye on the Count: Census 2020 series and is generously co-sponsored by the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics.

Refreshments will be provided and all Yale affiliates are welcome to attend.
