The Yale Film Archive & Yale Film Society presents a film screening: “The Exorcist.” (William Friedkin, 1973/2000, 35mm, 132 mins)
50th anniversary screening! This Halloween, we remember William Friedkin (1935-2023) by reviving The Exorcist, the first horror film to receive a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Priests struggle to save a young girl from possession when the demon Pazuzu arrives in Georgetown. Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, and a terrifying Linda Blair star.
