On Jan. 19, 2024, physician, author, and Yale College alumnus Andrew Lam will share the most riveting stories from his latest book, The Masters of Medicine: Our Greatest Triumphs in the Race to Cure Humanity’s Deadliest Diseases. He will reveal how D-Day, Luftwaffe bombing raids, and top-secret Liberty ship cargo during WWII bequeathed humanity innovations in surgery, cancer treatment, and trauma care that still serve us today, and will also share about his career balancing medicine and literature.
