The Williams F. Buckley Jr. Program at Yale presents a book review and lecture:

JD Vance LAW ‘13: “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis

In his #1 New York Times bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis, JD Vance, a former marine and Yale Law School graduate, gives an account of his experiences growing up in a poor Rust Belt town, and provides insight into the often overlooked struggles  and decline of America’s white working class.

Named by the Times as one of the “6 Books to Help Understand Trump’s Win,” Hillbilly Elegy offers a unique perspective into the shift in this demographic’s attitude that in turn caused the shift from establishment politics that defined the result of the 2016 Presidential election.

All are welcome to experience firsthand the perspective JD Vance represents in his lecture.

Refreshments from Koffee will be served.
