The Program in Agrarian Studies presents:

Cymene Howe, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Anthropology Department of Rice University:  “Wind Power and the Politics of Mitigation in Southern Mexico.”

Cymene Howe’s research is concerned with the ways that ecological authority is constituted as well as how anthropogenic climate change calls for new ways of imagining our collective biotic and material futures. She also have a longstanding interest in the overlapping conversations between feminist and queer theory, new materialisms and more-than-human being.
