The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs presents: 

Kanni Wignaraja, United Nations Development Program:  “International Development Challenges and Career Pathways.“ 

Kanni Wignaraja will discuss challenges in the field of international development and career pathways. 

Wignaraja took up her assignment as Senior Advisor to the UNDP Administrator in January 2019. Her focus is on development innovations, policy and leadership development. Prior to this, she was the Director of the Office for UN Development Coordination for five years, leading a team that brought together the forty UN development system entities, to deliver results in a more coordinated manner in over 170 countries. Wignaraja has significant experience in leading the UN’s global, regional and country development portfolios. She served as the UN/UNDP Representative in Zambia; as Policy Director of UNDP’s Capacity Development Group; with UNV in Geneva; and as Deputy Representative in Viet Nam, and briefly in Indonesia.
