“Humanitarian Assistance and US National Security.”

The discussion will explore international aid and development as foreign policy and the US response to humanitarian crises across the globe.

Dieckhaus previously served as the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe Regional Director for USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance in Budapest, Hungary, and has deployed to and led multiple disaster responses around the world. Prior to joining USAID, he worked as a consultant for various humanitarian organizations, including the World Food Programme and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and served in the US Marine Corps.
