The International Security Studies, Department of Political Science, Department of Physics, Wright Laboratory and Department of Astronomy present the 2023 Kimball Smith Series

Dr. Laura Grego, Senior Scientist and Global Security Research Director, Union of Concerned Scientists and Dr. Gershon Hasin, Martin R. Flug Visiting Lecturer in Law, Yale Law School: 

“Arms Races in Outer Space: Physics and Politics.”

Join the Kimball Smith Series for a moderated panel followed by small group discussions regarding outer space and global security.

Attendees will learn about technologies ranging from anti-satellite weapons to spy balloons. The program will cover key physics considerations for understanding space security, as well as diplomatic and regulatory approaches to limit arms races. Yale community members of all disciplines and levels of expertise are encouraged to attend.
