Event description:

The Department of Religious Studies Religion & Modernity Working Group presents:

Eliyahu Stern: “On Isaac Deutscher’s “The Non-Jewish Jew” and selections from Elchonon Wasserman’s “Epoch of the Messiah.”

Now in its second semester, the Whitney Humanities Center Working Group in Religion and Modernity is open to all interested readers among faculty and graduate students. Our mode of operation for the first year is to have a leader present materials in his/her research area for discussion.

Our practice is to email details and reminders only to those who have signed up to the group list at Box@Yale. Core and affiliated faculty and graduate students are added automatically, but if you do not fall into one of those categories and would like to join, please contact Noreen Khawaja to be added to the list.

Our format this year is pre-circulated (but very short) texts which are all found in the Box file associated with our group, with each discussion led by the faculty member who has chosen the reading. You are most welcome to join for any (part) of the meetings you can make!
