The Department of Afircan Studies Endeavors Seminar Series presents Minkah Makalani is Director of the Center for Africana Studies and Associate Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University: 

“Think of this Seriously”: C. L. R. James, New World Group, and Decolonizing Black Study.”

Minkah Makalani works in intellectual history, black political thought, the Black radical tradition, and diaspora. The author of, In the Cause of Freedom: Radical Black Internationalism from Harlem to London, 1917-1939, he is at work on two manuscripts: Words Past the Margin: Essays in Black Thought and the Politically Unimaginable, and Calypso Conquered the World: C. L. R. James and the Politically Unimaginable in Trinidad.
