James C. Scott’s Contributions to Southeast Asia Studies: A Panel Discussion

This panel discussion will feature a diverse range of scholars from different academic disciplines working in the field of Southeast Asia Studies who have all found inspiration in the work of Jim Scott. The event will begin with short reflections from each of the panelists on professor Scott’s contributions to Southeast Asia Studies and will also include ample time for open discussion and dialogue with members of the audience, who will be encouraged to share their own reflections.

Panelists will include Erik Harms, Michael Dove, Jean Black, Meredith Weiss, Brad Davis, Nancy Peluso, David Moe, and Christian Lentz.

The event will be held in person. Although it will not be simulcast on zoom, a video recording will be posted later to the youtube channel of the Yale Council on Southeast Asia Studies.
