The Council on Middle East Studies Colloquium presents:

Jake Halpern, Author and Journalist and Michael Sloan, Illustrator:  “Cartoons in Crisis: The New York Times Reports on Refugees… in a Comic Strip.”

Jake Halpern is a contributor to the New Yorker, the New York Times, and This American Life. He is the author of bestsellers Nightfall and Bad Paper. 

Michael Sloan is an award-winning illustrator whose artwork has appeared in many newspapers and magazines. He is the creator of the Zen of Nimbus comic.
