“Addressing HIV/AIDS in Humanitarian Crises: Perspectives from Lebanon.”

In observance of World AIDS Day, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS is convening a virtual symposium on “Addressing HIV/AIDS in Humanitarian Crises: Perspectives from Lebanon” on December 7, 2020 at 8:30 am-10:30 am Eastern Time.

The goal of the symposium is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and all interested communities to discuss current research and identify knowledge gaps related to HIV/AIDS testing, linkage, and retention in care among refugees and displaced populations in Lebanon, including the impact of economic, political, and COVID-19 crises on service and care delivery.

The symposium program includes a keynote presentation by Professor Adeeba Kamarulzaman (University of Malaya, Malaysia; President, International AIDS Society), and panel presentations and discussions with researchers and practitioners.
