As you know from previous announcements, under Yale’s research reactivation and travel guidelines, all off-campus research and fieldwork during the pandemic and Yale’s Phase III has to comply with the guidelines and procedures here: https://research.yale.edu/research-reactivation-campus-research-and-field-work. For much off-campus research, that involves a subsequent application to our Off-campus research and fieldwork committee, to ensure that fieldwork is safe for you and the communities in which you travel and research

The Off-Campus research and fieldwork committee is going to hold information sessions for students and faculty planning off-campus research and fieldwork, to talk people through the processes and answer questions about off-campus and international research travel during Phase III. On October. 30th, led by Doug Rogers, our H&SS subcommittee chair, the discussion will be focused on Social Sciences and Humanities.

Also in attendance will be Joanne Meyerowitz, the chair of our archival, libraries and museums subcommittee, and Steven Wilkinson, the chair of the overall committee. Don Filer, Associate Vice President for Global Strategy and Director of our Office for International Affairs, will also be attending and can answer relevant questions about university travel policy (though his team has already helpfully brought together that information here).
