- If I have 2 overlaps between my 2 majors, am I still allowed to count non-Political Science courses toward my major requirements?

If the 2 overlaps are cross-listed between the student’s two majors, then the student is also allowed to count up to 2 non-Political Science courses toward their major requirements pending DUS approval.

However, if, for example, a student is a double major with Political Science and Global Affairs and gets DUS approval to count GLBL 101 (Gateway to Global Affairs) as an overlap, that course counts as both an overlap and one of two DUS Approved Exceptions that the student is allowed to count toward the major.

(For more information about how to petition for these courses, please see Question 6 under “General”.)
