The Council on Latin American and Iberian Studies presents a Photographic project and reception:

David Cantillo & Pablo Vidal: “Caminos Sagrados - Sacred Paths: Immaterial Heritage in Spain”

“The pilgrimage, leaving home, the known, to undertake the way to a distant place, of difficult access and of sacred character, has been and is present in all cultures. The mountain towns of the province of Castellon maintain pilgrimages of medieval origin (fourteenth century) to mountain sanctuaries, following rich and complex rituals. We are facing interesting examples of intangible heritage. Each year more and more people participate in this combination of tradition, sports activity and contact with nature. The whole town moved to ask for water, peace and health.”
