Yale Program on Governance and Local Development presents: 

2nd Annual Conference:  “Service Provision in a Changing Arab World.”

In the past four years, Arab states have experienced a myriad of changes. This conference focuses on obstacles and opportunities to providing public services in the face of instability across the region, emphasizing factors that explain variability at the local level. Bringing together a multidisciplinary group of scholars and practitioners, the conference will comprises four panels: Challenges for Service Provision, Service Provision in Conflict Zones, Refugee Populations and Local Service Delivery, Service Delivery in Transition States, and a final roundtable on policy implications.

The Program on Governance and Local Development at Yale University is based at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, was founded with support from the Moulay Hicham Foundation and Yale University, and is directed by Ellen Lust.
