The Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) at Yale University presents a two day conference:
“Experimental Studies of Elite Behavior”.
The Center for the Study of American Politics at ISPS will be hosting a two-day conference, “Experimental Studies of Elite Behavior,” on May 8 & 9. The event is being organized by Daniel Butler, Associate Professor of Political Science and Resident Fellow at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) at Yale University.
The conference will bring together a group of scholars to focus on how experiments can effectively be used to study the behavior of political elites. The researchers will present existing studies that will help highlight the opportunities and obstacles of experimentation with elite samples. Presenters include Kate Baldwin and Josh Kalla of Yale, Peter Loewen of the University of Toronto, Christian Grose of USC, Brendan Nyhan of Dartmouth, Edmund Malesky of Duke, Jessica Preece of BYU, and Patrick Öhberg and Elin Naurin of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The first day of the conference will convene at noon with lunch and will include the presentation of a number of completed projects. The second day of the conference will provide more of a workshop environment, with several researchers presenting research proposals for feedback from attendees. The conference is also designed to provide lots of time for attendees to interact and share ideas.
More information including a complete schedule can be found on the conference website.
