Event description:

The Yale Film Colloquium presents Alfonso Cuarón’s 2013 GRAVITY, the first film of the Colloquium’s “Spaced Out: Outer Space and Altered States” fall program. GRAVITY will be shown on 35mm.

Featuring stunning cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki, outstanding performances by Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and an innovative, unique score by Steven Price, GRAVITY transports the viewer into the void of outer space in a way that few other films have been able to. Join us to revisit the recent classic that New York Times critic A.O. Scott claims, “rewrites the rules of cinema as we have known them.”

Event is free and open to all.

Funding for The Yale Film Colloquium is provided by the History of Art Department, Yale School of Art, the European Studies Council at Yale, the Film Study Center (courtesy of Paul L. Joskow), Films at the Whitney (supported by the Barbakow Fund for Innovative Film Programs at Yale), and the Dean’s Fund for Student Colloquia.
