The Department discourages students from selecting one of our 5 subfields as a concentration. Standard Majors are encouraged to take any number of courses within the Department that focus on one subfield, so long as they satisfy the requirement of taking 2 courses in 3 of the 5 subfields. The IDC major was designed to allow students to count courses from other majors toward his or her major and students can count up to 3 non-PLSC courses toward this type of major.) Please also keep in mind that the IDC does not appear on your transcript or your diploma.
